KXIP: Know about the stars

Punjab Kings(KXIP) has never been short on cricket players. Yet, they have never been able to live up to their fans’ hopes and win the Indian Premier League. Mohali is where the franchise is based. Preity Zinta, Ness Wadia, Mohit Burman, and Karan Paul are part of the group that runs the franchise. In addition to their regular season games at the IS Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali, they also play some home games in Dharamshala and Indore.

According to ipl current news, Punjab Kings has made it to an IPL final, but Delhi Capitals has not. In 2014, after the group stage, they were in the first place, but they lost to Kolkata Knight Riders in the playoffs. KXIP has the unfortunate record of being the team that hasn’t made it to the playoffs the most. In the first season of the IPL, they chose Yuvraj Singh as their star player and captain. Under his leadership, the team finished in second place overall.

Under the banner of the Punjab Kings logo, the letters “K J H P H” show that the team’s main markets are in Kashmir, Jammu, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana. They’ve given chances to players like Paul Valthaty and Parvinder Awana who haven’t played for their country yet, and those players haven’t let them down. Even team leaders like Shaun Marsh, who won the IPL’s Orange Cap in its first season, haven’t gotten the credit they deserve. This may be because the team hasn’t done well, but it could also be because of the way the team is run.

In this article, they look at the eleven best players in KXIP’s history:

KL Rahul –

In 2018, KL Rahul joined Punjab Kingsas a new player. He has played for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the past. Even though he helped RCB score a lot of runs in 2016, the team decided to let him go. In 2018, KL Rahul paid 11 crores to join KXIP. KL Rahul got 659 runs with an impressive average of 54.91 and a fast strike rate of 158.41. This made him one of the biggest surprises of the tournament.

He also had a very good year the next time around. The young man from Karnataka scored 593 runs, which included an unbeaten 100, which is his best score in the IPL so far. After losing Ravi Ashwin as captain, the top-order batsman has been chosen as the team’s new captain for the 2020 IPL season. In the IPL, he has scored a total of 1,977 runs, with an average of 42.06 and a strike rate of 138.15.

Chris Gayle –

Chris Gayle will be 41 in a month, but he is still one of the most dangerous batters in the shortest version of the game. If there was one batter who could represent T20s, it would be the Universe Boss. It’s crazy that in Twenty20 cricket, he has more than 13,000 runs. In his T20 career, he has scored 7 more centuries (22) than Kohli, Raina, Rohit, Dhawan, and Dhoni.

Shaun Marsh –

Shaun Marsh was bought by Punjab Kingsin the 2008 IPL auction because of how well he played for Western Australia. Marsh had the most runs in the league, even though he didn’t play in the first four games. One of his most impressive scores was a hundred against the Rajasthan Royals. In 2008, he scored the most runs in the IPL and was given the Orange Cap as the top scorer.

David Miller –

The cricket team Punjab Kings is also the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the name, David Miller. Since he joined the team in 2012, KXIP fans have heard a lot about him. The franchise decided not to re-sign the Proteas batsman in 2020, and he will now play for Rajasthan Royals. This is the end of his long time with the team.

Between 2013 and 2015, he had his most successful years. In 2013, he got 418 runs in only 12 games, for an average of 59.71 and a strike rate of more than 160. He scored a hundred against Royal Challengers Bangalore, which was an amazing feat. Since he hit a devastating hundred off 38 balls against RCB in 2013, KXIP has always had faith in the left-handed batter.

Glenn Maxwell  –

Glenn Maxwell is one of the most wanted players in Twenty20 cricket, so it makes sense that franchises are willing to pay a high price for his services. Maxwell would be the wild card in their best-ever KXIP XI because he can bat anywhere in the order.

Maxwell has played for the Kings XI Punjab, the Delhi Capitals (twice), and the Mumbai Indians. In 2014, he was named the Most Valuable Player after he and David Miller led the Punjab Kingsto the championship. In 2014, he had a batting average of 34.50 and a strike rate of 187.75, which led to 552 runs.

Yuvraj Singh  –

According to the statistics, other players like Wriddhiman Saha, Manan Vohra, and Mandeep Singh are equally as capable as Yuvraj Singh at playing this position. The most ideal candidates for the role of KXIP’s first icon player would be Indian middle-order batsmen, either from the past or the present, the former all-rounder Yuvraj Singh. The exceptional batter who bats in the middle order would be a valuable addition to the KXIP all-time XI as a backup spin bowler.

Yuvraj led KXIP to a victory with 959 runs despite having a below-average batting average of 22.30 and an above-average strike rate of 127.86. But, his bowling performances for KXIP were where he shone the most. During the 2009 edition of the Indian Premier League, he was a member of the Punjab side and took 14 wickets, including two hat-tricks. Yuvraj will take on the additional job of captain and lead the squad to replicate the success that KXIP had when he was in charge of the club in 2008. As there isn’t an obvious leader on the roster, Yuvraj will take on the extra duty of captain.
